The starting points of my artistic processes are personal conflicts, which often deal with subjects such as nationalist indoctrination, detachment from nature, and globalizing consumer pop culture. I pursue these with a rather playful, colorful approach resembling American pop art while connected to the craftsmanship and subject matter of 20th-century German painters and printmakers. I often borrow imagery from my two other fascinations: skateboarding and botany.
